Bollywood Dance Party!

This event is our gift to you. We are hoping this will influence you to help uplift the lives of less fortunate children both at the Tenderloin After School Program and at the Gandhi Ashram in New Delhi, India.

Please pay whatever you wish to benefit these two important organizations. Suggested donation is $40 per person.

How Can You Help?

By simply showing up. Once there, enjoy yourself. Then - at the end of your evening - take the opportunity to "pay it forward". Whatever you choose to donate will be given fully to the Tenderloin After School Program and the Ghandi Ashram of New Delhi.

As we all become part of the global village, it's more important than ever to cultivate connections to the other villagers. To that end, the children of the Tenderloin After School Program and the Ghandi Ashram have been reaching out to each other through letters, art work and other communications. To become part of our village, please pay whatever you feel knowing that it will help kids on opposite sides of the world become that much closer.

Bhangra Dancing
Bhangra is truly one of the most joyous and celebratory forms of dancing. It can be seen at any happy/festive occasions and celebrations especially weddings. Unlike devotional invocations and prayers attached with other classical Indian dances, Bhangra is closer to nature and has a worker-like, down-to-earth theme. And therefore not surprisingly, almost anyone and everyone can (and does) dance to Bhangra with immense joy and ecstasy that nature bestows to all. Find out more: Dholrhythms.com

Our Projects

In San Francisco: Close to home we support the Tenderloin After School Program - which provides valuable services to kids of families living in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco. TASP serves as a shelter from the street culture and many harmful influences that abound in this area. The program provides kids with a safe space to be, where they can play, study and get the proper support and training needed to succeed in life. Learn more: Tenderloin After School Program

In India: Mahatma Gandhi's intention behind his ashram at Kingsway Camp in New Delhi, India was to help uplift the underprivileged. On this very location, we are helping to fund the school for 300 children of Harijan (untouchable). This school helps us continue Gandhi's movement to eradicate social injustice of being labeled "untouchable". These children will help to uplift their impoverished community from within. It is the most basic of all human needs: To be clean and have nurturing human touch. Learn more: Gandhi Ashram

Why We Do This
This is an experiment to see what happens when the San Francisco Bay Area community - comprised of caring people, business owners, volunteers and local chefs - all focus their generosity. It's a celebration of fine dining and merriment, yet working to empower the poorest children in India and the less fortunate kids right here in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco.
