The big Holi party is this this Saturday and we’re excited to see everyone there!
Here’s a few things you should know about Holi:
1) You are going to get messy. And that’s ok! Wear something you don’t care about because it’s going to be colorful forever. For the best photos, wear white.
2) Bring garbage bags to cover your car seat for the ride home. You’re going to Holi, your upholstery isn’t.
3) Bring extra bags for whatever you’re wearing and possibly a change of clothes. Did we mention that the colors get everywhere? Because they totally do.
4) Bring towels, a spray bottle of water and some wipes to get the colors off your skin and hair. The colors won’t stain your skin, but you probably don’t want to accidentally rub them in your eyes either.
Come join Ranjan and the rest of the New Delhi Restaurant family as we the Bhartiya Mandal Foundation for their annual Holi celebration – the annual Indian festival of Spring. BMF is a long-time supported of Compassionate Chefs Cafe and this is a great chance to help them and also make Ranjan look like a walking rainbow.
The colors will be flying at the Marina Middle School in San Francisco on March 10th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
In addition to all the color you can throw, there will be food and beverages, music and free parking.
Ticket price includes entry and unlimited color.

Save the date for Saturday, Oct 28th to help the thousands of hospitality workers who have been displaced or suddenly unemployed by the devasting fires in Napa and Sonoma. We want to fill our dining room with people who also feel a need to help – and eat delicious Indian food. Our world famous 10-course Indian buffet will be open from 5:30 to 9:30 pm and all proceeds will be donated to fire relief.

Nov 18th is our 30th Anniversary Celebration!
New Delhi Restaurant is getting ready for their 30th Anniversary Celebration Extravaganza! There will be music, dancing, henna, lots of laughs and more food than you can believe. As always, all of our merriment is for a good cause: the kids of Compassionate Chefs Cafe.
Our goal has always been to help kids become citizens of the world by connecting kids across the street in the Tenderloin of San Francisco with kids across the ocean at the Gandhi Ashram in Ashram in Ahmedabad, India. Please join us in this celebration to us help the kids become global citizens.
….Thirty years later.This is a Pay-It-Forward event and we only ask that you donate what you feel moved to give. Suggested donation is $50 a person. All funds are split evenly between the Tenderloin After School Program and the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad. The Asian Society of Northern California is hosting their annual open house. This year, the food sponsor and speaker will be none other than Ranjan Dey! As part of the evening’s festivities, Ranjan will be giving a talk about the Indian city of Kochi and the role pepper plays in the history of India and it’s food.
Anyone and everyone are welcome to this event – it is an open house, after all!

Angels Meet For Lunch
Every so often a group of angels from Open Table gather at New Delhi Restaurant with Ranjan playing the role of Charlie. They talk about how to solve the problems of the world, where their energy will do the most good and what the next mission should be. Today they decided to keep it simple: Enjoy a delicious lunch, some wonderful company and continue the mission of supporting Compassionate Chefs Cafe with a spontaneous $100 donation.
